Vision
To build a connected, collaborative, and mission-driven Jesuit communications network across South Asia that faithfully communicates the Gospel, promotes Ignatian spirituality, and shapes culture and public opinion in the light of justice, reconciliation, and hope.
Jesuits in Communication (JESCOM), South Asia envisions a vibrant Conference-level media presence where all 20 Provinces are united through a common digital platform, strengthening one another while respecting provincial identity, and becoming a transformative voice in society.
Mission
The mission of JESCOM South Asia is to strengthen and coordinate the Jesuit communications apostolate at the Conference level by:
- Establishing and sustaining a common digital platform (jescoms.asia) that connects all Province media desks.
- Promoting collaboration, shared ownership, and participatory governance among Executive Members, Zonal Coordinators, and Province JESCOM Coordinators.
- Encouraging every Province to produce and share quality media content — videos, audio materials, articles, social media resources, and creative initiatives — that reflect Ignatian values and Conference priorities.
- Building capacity through structured training, formation programs, and ongoing technical support to enhance competence in digital and media ministry.
- Strengthening the influence of Jesuit communication in shaping information, culture, and public opinion in accordance with the mission of the Society of Jesus.
A Jesuit working in social communication is one whose apostolic mission gives priority to communication — either by dedicating a major portion of his ministry to communication-culture processes or by exercising significant influence on information and public opinion through consistent and responsible use of social communication media. JESCOM exists to support and animate this mission across South Asia.
Motto
